Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of TaskInfer (“TaskInfer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our website, developer console, APIs, documentation, and related services (collectively, the Service).
This Policy applies to information we control. When a customer sends personal information through our API, that customer decides why and how it is processed and may be the data controller or business under applicable law. In that situation, we process the information to provide the Service on the customer’s instructions.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your name, email address, profile image, organization or workspace details, and identifiers received when you sign in with GitHub or another supported identity provider.
- Transaction information. Purchase amount, currency, Credit quantity, transaction identifiers, payment status, and related billing and fraud-prevention metadata. Waffo Pancake and its payment partners collect payment credentials; we do not receive or store complete payment card details.
- Customer Content. Audio, text, files, instructions, parameters, metadata, and generated output submitted or created through the Service. Audio used for transcription, speaker diarization, or voice cloning may contain personal, sensitive, or biometric information under some laws.
- Usage and device information. API requests, service and Credit usage, timestamps, response status, latency, IP address, browser and device information, diagnostic logs, and security events.
- Communications. Messages, attachments, and other information you provide when you request support, report abuse, or respond to a survey.
How we use information
We use information to:
- create accounts, authenticate users, and manage workspaces;
- receive requests, perform AI inference, return results, and provide support;
- measure usage, deduct Credits, process purchases, and maintain transaction records;
- operate, debug, secure, monitor, and improve the reliability and usability of the Service;
- enforce our Terms of Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect users and the public; and
- comply with legal obligations and communicate important product, security, billing, and policy updates.
TaskInfer does not sell Customer Content or use it to train models owned by TaskInfer without your express permission. We may create aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not reasonably identify you to understand and improve the Service.
AI inference processing
A request may be routed to different infrastructure or inference providers based on the capability, requested features, availability, quality, latency, safety, and cost. We disclose provider categories in this Policy without exposing internal routing or model selection in the public API.
Only submit Customer Content that you are authorized to process. If you use speaker diarization or voice cloning, you are responsible for providing required notices and obtaining consent from speakers and other affected people. See our Terms of Servicefor additional voice and audio restrictions.
Payment processing
When you purchase Credits, Waffo Pancake presents the checkout and processes payment through its payment partners. Payment credentials are submitted directly to those providers. TaskInfer receives the transaction result and limited metadata needed to issue Credits, reconcile the purchase, prevent fraud, and provide support.
Payment providers process information under their own privacy notices and legal obligations. Do not send complete payment card details to TaskInfer support.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide and secure the Service, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with law. Retention depends on the type of information, account status, sensitivity, legal requirements, and operational need.
We aim to minimize retention of Customer Content used for inference. Temporary copies, diagnostic records, abuse-prevention records, and encrypted backups may remain for limited periods. Inference providers may have their own limited retention obligations or technical processes. When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it as appropriate.
Moderation audit metadata may include the decision, policy categories, external request identifier, processing stage, character count, and a cryptographic digest, but not the raw text submitted for automated screening. Reports or investigations you initiate may include content you choose to provide to support.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encrypted network transport, credential protection, monitoring, and separation of production responsibilities. We limit access to people and providers with a legitimate operational need.
No system is completely secure. Protect your account and API keys, rotate exposed credentials promptly, and email [email protected] if you believe your account or data has been compromised.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have the right to appeal a decision or complain to a data-protection authority.
To make a request, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. Some information may be retained where an exception or legal obligation applies.
If TaskInfer processes personal information for one of our customers, contact that customer first. We will assist the customer with a valid request as required by applicable law and our agreement with them.
Communications and choices
We may send service messages about authentication, transactions, security, incidents, policy changes, and material product updates. These operational messages are necessary for the Service and may not offer an unsubscribe option while your account remains active.
If we send optional marketing communications, you can unsubscribe using the link in the message or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential account or transaction messages.
International data transfers
TaskInfer and our providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use recognized legal mechanisms and contractual safeguards for cross-border transfers. Local laws in those countries may differ from the laws in your jurisdiction.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Third-party services
The Service may link to or interoperate with third-party websites, applications, identity providers, and developer tools. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. Review those notices before sending information to a third-party service or enabling an integration.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service and applicable law evolve. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, when a change is material, provide additional notice through the Service, account email, or another reasonable method.
